The first CyberKnife in the Middle East was successfully installed at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in approximately 50 days. An installation of that kind would normally take 5 months but we at Gulf Medical were up to the challenge of meeting the 50-day deadline set by the hospital management. And we are proud to have made the first CyberKnife installation in the Middle East a great success. To prepare the site for the CyberKnife installation; we removed the old Linac machine and concrete base. We then prepared a new concrete base as well as installed 25 tons of steel sheets on to the walls for shielding and finished the electrical and mechanical work based on manufacturer requirements.
We had faith that our team effort will not go unrewarded. After applying motivation, dedication, experience and teamwork everything fell right into place and the first CyberKnife installation in the Middle East was featured in a number of leading local newspapers.
Thanks to Allah, careful planning, a great team and a lot of hard work we were able to make the installation historical.
